A royal expert is speaking out this week to warn Meghan Markle that Americans are starting to turn on her, as they are loyal to Queen Elizabeth.
Royal expert Daniela Elser said that Meghan and her husband Prince Harry’s “novelty value” is “no longer quite what it once might have been” in the United States after more than a year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When they landed in Los Angeles in March last year their value as a highly bankable, rare commodity was peaking,” Elser said, according to The Express. “Their brand was on the ascendant.”
“Their arrival in the US collided with the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, snuffing out a lot of the momentum around their arrival in the States,” she continued.”They might have been ready and open for business but the nation was not. Fast forward to this year and with the US reopening and life returning to normal and something of the novelty value of a real-life Duke and Duchess in Tinseltown’s midst is no longer quite what it once might have been.”
Elser went on to say that Meghan and Harry’s explosive tell-all interviews in which they have bashed the royal family have not gone over well with many Americans who are loyal to the Queen.
Another royal expert recently accused Meghan and Harry of “playing the game to their benefit.”
They are playing this game, certainly on the part of Meghan and Harry for their benefit,” said royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti. “They are feeding this gossip machine constantly and the Royal Family as well relies on a certain amount of coverage.”
“Nurturing this image really that Great Britain and the Commonwealth should really adore them and feel affectionate and warm towards them,” he added. “Both sides are using the media and press.”
Sacerdoti added that while the birth of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s second child Lilibet “Lili” Diana has brought the royal family somewhat closer, there is still lots of distance between everyone.
“Just remember that the queen hasn’t met her latest granddaughter. It doesn’t seem likely that she’s going to anytime soon,” he said. “She’s barely seen Archie for quite a while.
