Celine Dion can be witnessed fighting back tears as she discusses her heartbreaking Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis for her upcoming documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

Radar Online claim that the legendary hit-maker spoke candidly about the pain the diagnosis had caused her, stating that what she misses most is being able to perform for her legion of fans.

Dion has largely kept out of the media spotlight since her health woes were made public, and serious doubts have been cast as to whether or not she’ll ever recover sufficiently to perform again.

Though a slew of sporadic appearances earlier this year – including one to present an award at the 2024 Grammys – gave cause for optimism, it seems as though Dion is no closer to making a return to the stage.

Remember, she was forced to cancel all the dates of her world tour throughout 2023 and 2024 – a sure sign that her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis is as grave as certain batches of speculation have led people to believe.

In a new trailer for the star’s upcoming documentary, released Thursday, Dion can be seen on the verge of tears as she discusses coping with a life wherein she cannot perform as she has done for the past few decades.

“I am working hard every day but I have to admit, it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much. The people. I miss them,” she said.

Yet through all the hardships and tribulations, the 56-year-old remains steadfast in her commitment to return to doing what she does best, at any cost.

In a powerful statement, the five-time Grammy winner promised that she “won’t stop”.

“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl,” Dion said. “And I won’t stop. I won’t stop.”

“I’ve seen my life, and I love every piece of it,” she added. “It’s not hard to do a show, you know,” she said. “It’s hard to cancel a show.”

Earlier this year, on March 15, Dion offered an update to mark SPS Awareness Day.

“Today the world recognizes International SPS Awareness Day,” her social media post read.

“As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible.

“I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!

“I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!”

I think I speak for all of us when I say that I hope Celine Dion can return to performing sooner rather than later.
